When given the opportunity to travel into the poorest regions of Argentina, Blake Mycoskie quickly noticed the lack of children with shoes. Knowing that infections could be prevented from proper footwear and having a desire to help, Blake developed an organization in 2006. The vision was simple- design and sell shoes then use the profits to donate to children without. It’s called a One for One campaign. Every pair that is sold, allows for one pair to be given to a child in need. This past month, TOMS Shoes gave away its one millionth pair of shoes. The company has been recognized for its commitment to social responsibility and innovation. In turn, it has created a movement around the world that has lead to furthering the ultimate vision of improving the lives of children and their communities. TOMS Shoes deserves to be the Trusted Company of the Month.
